Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek hosted Turkish-Scottish Chamber of Commerce Şahin Vahap Fırat in his office at the Ministry. Fırat, who left the office after an hour-long meeting, made the following statements in his statement; "We had meetings with our Minister on important issues. As the President of the Turkish-Scottish Chamber of Commerce, I am here to announce an exciting development to you today. My one-hour meeting with the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Şimşek, was a valuable meeting.

This meeting is a major step towards further developing and deepening commercial relations between Turkey and Scotland. Scotland is a market of strategic importance for Turkey and the trade volume between the two countries is increasing day by day.

During our meeting, we discussed with the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey the steps that should be taken to expand the areas of cooperation, taking into account the common interests of our parties. These steps include facilitating trade, encouraging investments and removing trade barriers.

In particular, we will focus on the development of sectoral collaborations and create new mechanisms to increase business opportunities between Turkish and Scottish companies. In this way, we will maximize the cooperation potential between the Turkish and Scottish business world and make a great contribution to the economies of both countries.

With this cooperation agreement, Turkey's commercial relations with Scotland will further strengthen, while Scotland's interest and investment potential in Turkey will increase. This will allow both Turkish and Scottish companies to seize mutually advantageous opportunities and will give great impetus to the growth of the business world.

Finally, I would like to point out that this meeting will not only strengthen the trade relations between Turkey and Scotland, but also deepen the cultural and social ties between Turkey and Scotland. Strengthening the relations between the people of the two countries on the basis of friendship and cooperation will help us create a more solid and sustainable partnership in the long term. "I am very pleased to take this big step."

The President of the Turkish Scottish Chamber of Commerce is making a series of visits to Ankara and Istanbul.
